The Iranian calendar is based on the Spring Equinox and it is very exact. In contrast all the other calendars are totally arbitrary. Here is a brief summary. Tomorrow is the beginning of the Chinese new year, which changes every year, as it begins on the new Moon in Aquarius or Bahman بهمن ♒. The Indian new year is based on the new Moon in Scorpio or Aban آبان ♏. The Christian calendar is based on Capricorn Solstice (as Jesus was born on Yalda the birthday of light), but they wanted to include the Sunday, so they celebrated the 25th of December as Christmas to have the new year begin a week later. Their calendar loses one day every 5000 years, whilst the Iranian calendar loses one day every 15,000 years, as we add two days every seven leap years or every 33 years. The Muslims and Jews follow the Lunar cycles, but the Jewish incorporates the Sun cycle in a very complicated way. In short, if you want to know cosmologically where the planets were when you were born, you need to know the Iranian calendar date. Iranian calendar is exactly the same as the horoscope.
